Temple Festivals
Aadi Pooram, Aadi Karthigai, Vinayagar Chathurthi, Aavani moola festival (Murugan visiting Madurai), Navarathiri festival, Saraswathi Poojai, Vijayadasami (Murugan visiting Pasumalai), Iyppasi pooram, Kantha Sasti festival, Karthigai Somawarangal, Thirukarthigai, Thirupalli eluchi, Aruthradarshan, Vaikunda Ekadasi, Theppam (float) festival, Thai poosam, Maha Sivarathiri, Panguni festival, Tamil Puthandu, Chithirai festival, Vaikasi Vishakam, Mottaiarasu festival, Aani oonjal, Aani Muppala Poojai, Vaeilukku Ukandha Amman festival
Chithirai festival:
Chithirai festival is celebrated for 4 days. During this festival Muruga and Perumal visit Madurai for Meenakshi's marriage and stay for 4 days. Later they return to their place, at the end of marriage.

Car festival
Vaikasi Vishakam:
On the last day of the 10-day festival, Paal abishekam (Milk) is performed throughout the day for Muruga at Kambaththadi mandapam. On this day thousands of disciples perform Paal (milk) Kavadi.

Kandha Sasti festival:
This is a 7-day festival. During sasti, Surasamharam is conducted grandly on the Sannidhi street. On the morning of last day of the festival, procession of Muruga seated on golden Peacock car is taken through Giri streets. Every year the number of disciples taking part in this festival is rapidly increasing.

Thiru Karthigai festival:
On the 8th day of this 10-day festival, Muruga seated on Diamond car is taken in procession. On the last day of the festival Jyothi is lighted on the hilltop.

Thai Karthigai festival:
This festival is also celebrated for 10 days. On the 9th day of the festival Diamond car procession is conducted. Murugan goes around the street in a small Diamond Car. On the last day of the festival, teppam (float) festival is celebrated grandly in the morning and Surasamharam in the night.

Panguni Peruvila:
This is the longest festival, celebrated for 14 days. Perumal is taken in procession seated in Golden pallak (Palanquin vehicle) during 11 days of the festival. During this festival spiritual speeches and art programs are performed on the streets. The following festivals are celebrated, 10th day - Surasamharam festival 11th day - Pattabishekam festival 12th day - wedding of Deivanai 13h day - procession of diamond car is conducted The festival ends with theertha thiruvila on the last day.

The evocative cave temple is much older and has a more sacred atmosphere than the Meenakshi temple, particularly on Fridays, when women place candles or sit around the temple floor and create kolams or rangoli patterns on the ground using coloured poweders, ash and flowers as an offering to Durga.

Beside the dargah there is a temple dedicated to Shiva, which is called as Kashi Vishwanathar temple, this temple has a pond, once in an year, the Velayutham of Subramanya swami will be brought here for bath.

Beside Tiruparankundram temple, just back side of the hill, there is a cave temple which is called as Thenparankundaram,that cave is under archeological department right now. Folklore say that cave is the old Tiruparankundaram temple.In top of the hill there is a temple dedicated to Shiva, which called as Kash Vishwanathar temple
Another folklore say that, Macha Munivar, one of the 18 siddhars, have attained Siddhi in this hill and his body is still remain there in a caveat hill which cannot be reached by people.

In another part of the hill, near by Kasi Vishwanathar temple, there are of Jain statues and scriptures erected in the stones, which seems Jain have used this as schools, which is called as "Samana Palli" in Tamil.
Worshiped BY : Basically Thirupparankundram temple swamy urvalams are taken by sengundha mudaliar community. There are 32 pangalis are living in Thirupparankundram to service when the god to round up the city on the festival timings. For those purpose The 32 pangalis are get agricultural lands from the kings who are managed the Madurai city in the year before the year 1500AD.
