Bangalore temples
Many renowned temples built by Kempe Gowda are located in Bangalore. The Gangadhareshware Temple, being on the most famous of these houses a rare idol of Agni, the God of Fire. The temples uniqueness lies in the rare phenomenon that occurs on the 13th or 14th of January, every year. At sunset, the rays of the sun pass through a window in the shrine, and then between the horns of the Nandi (the Sacred Bull) and finally shine on the Lingam of Lord Shiva. Bull Temple, is another of Kempe Gowdas famed temple where a 15 feet tall and 20 feet long idol of Nandi is situated.
