Kalpeshwar trek
Access to Kalpeshwar by road up to Helang is from Rishikesh, a distance of 243 km (151.0 mi) on the Rishikesh-Badrinath road. Helang to Kalpeshwar via Urgam village is by trekking (an easy trek) for a distance of 10 km (6.2 mi). The nearest airport is at Jolly Grant, Dehradun at a distance of 272 km (169.0 mi) and the nearest railhead, Rishikesh, is 255 km (158.4 mi). Kalpeshwar is the only Panch Kedar temple accessible throughout the year and from its location overlooks the Urgam valley, which provides lovely views of the fertile valley with its rich lands of rice, wheat and vegetables.
Boodha Kedar temple surrounded by potato fields is seen on the trek route. Also seen is the Dhyan Badri temple at Urgam Village, one of the Sapt Badri (seven Badri) temples.
